Origin: The hills of Maremma in southwestern Tuscany, Italy.
Aging: Six months in oak barrels. "Governo" is a traditional Tuscan oenological technique that aids fermentation and gives the wine a bit more sweetness and a slightly higher alcohol content.
Alcohol: 13.5%.
Tasting Notes: Bright ruby red tending to garnet with aging. Big on the nose with fruity floral aromas recalling cherries and violets. On the palate, exceptionally rich flavor with notes of cherries, blackberries, and grape. Harmonious and well balanced. The long, pleasant finish is elegantly framed by silky tannins.
Food Pairing: Particularly suitable for risotto, pasta, game, grilled meats, and aged cheeses.
Serving temperature: 18-20 °C.
