Le Rughe Prosecco DOC Brut
90 points (Austrian lifestyle magazine Falstaff)
This fine restaurant-quality imported wine is not available at LCBO stores.
"Le Rughe" means wrinkles in Italian! The name is an affectionate reference to its ancient terroir, the Valdobbiadene-Conegliano area of production, well known for Prosecco. It's a rolling landscape of steep hills planted with vineyards in every possible direction, where viticulture has a 1000-year history.
Vinicoltura Le Rughe is also one of the oldest wine companies in Valdobbiadene-Conegliano. They own 35 hectares of vineyards in Conegliano, the cultural heartland of the area, and the current owners have been developing this wine brand for 50 years.
