Nick's Picks—Whites
"Nick's Picks" are Nick's favorite wines among the many care packages he has received from his dad, Rolando, over the last few years. Wines from Argentina, where Nick lived from age 3 to age 10 with his family; from Italy, where the family enjoyed a vacation in 2009; from Portugal, where he went on a wine-scouting trip with his dad a few years ago; and from Spain, near Barcelona. Happy memories and good wine go together! Also, Nick is a great cook and enjoys pairing these wines with his delicious dinners—as well as his dad's asados.

LE RUGHE PROSECCO DOC BRUT (ITALY)
Brilliant, light-straw yellow with persistent perlage. On the nose, medium intensity and delicate aromas of grapefruit. The palate has citrus, acacia, pear and apple, and the very pleasant combination of acidity, effervescence and sweetness lead to a lingering, complex finish. Serve well chilled.

"ITALICO" PINOT GRIGIO TERRE DEGLI OSCI IGT 2019 (ITALY)
Straw yellow color. The nose has a delicate bouquet of citrus, apple, and pear, with notes of almond. In the mouth it is crisp and dry with a pleasant freshness and soft pear and melon flavors along with good persistence. Serve well chilled.

CLOS DEL PINELL GARNACHA BLANCA TERRA ALTA DO 2019 (SPAIN)
We found this wine to be a lovely surprise, inviting a second glass. Its qualities are best appreciated when it is well chilled. Bright gold color. Aroma of ripe white fruit and minerals. In the mouth it is creamy, fleshy, and full of freshness. Its mid-palate is quite long and silky. Serve well chilled.

"KASTA" BRANCO DOURO DOC 2016 (PORTUGAL)
Clear and citrine color. Fruity aroma with pineapple, peach and tropical notes. Well-balanced acidity, resulting in a long and very pleasant white wine. Serve chilled.

"FORAL DE MEDA" BRANCO DOURO DOC 2018 (PORTUGAL)
Pale citrine color. Fresh, citrusy flavor and even some tropical notes. In the mouth, it is fresh with well-balanced acidity. Serve chilled.

VILACETINHO VINHO VERDE DOC (PORTUGAL)
Pale-yellow citrine colour. Aromas of white orchard fruits and a light touch of tropical fruitiness on the nose. Fresh, young and vibrant, with a slight fizziness on the palate, lovely for sipping on any occasion. Serve well chilled.
